1.Is a deposit required when I book?
Every car rental booking will require a security deposit but it will only be taken upon collection of the vehicle.
2.What additional extras are on offer?
BEHR offers various additional services from extra insurance packages, child seats, GPS and more along with renting a car. All available extras will be listed for your convenience during the booking process and can be added on easily.
3.How long do I need to have held my driver's license to rent?
All drivers (including any additional drivers) have to be in possession of a driving license for at least 12 months to rent a car in Malta.
4.Are pets allowed in the vehicles?
Yes, pets are allowed at an additional charge.
5.Is smoking permitted in the vehicle?
BEHR operates on a strict non-smoking policy in all of our rental cars. We will enforce a special cleaning fee to the renter if a returned rented car requires special cleaning to remove any traces of smoking.
6.What is the minimum age to rent a car?
The minimum age to rent a car is 21. Drivers aged between 21-24 will be asked to pay a young driver fee.
7. What are your office hours?
Main office:

Pick up/drop off outside office hours is available at a charge.
8.What do I need to rent a car?
You would need a valid driver's license and a credit card in your name to rent a car.
9.Can I rent a car without a credit card?
A credit card is required for prepaid reservations and to secure a pre-authorization deposit. Pre-authorization deposit conducted through a credit card is not a charge, but a hold of the quantified amount. Car rental amount can also be paid via debit card.
10.Can I secure a pre-authorization deposit with a debit card?
If pre-authorization deposit is paid via debit card, this will be charged (not a hold) which is refunded after 14 days from drop off date, if the rented car is returned in the same condition that it was given.
11.What is the rental process like?
You will make a reservation, provide necessary documents, inspect the vehicle, sign a rental agreement and pay for the rental. Returning the car involves filling the gas tank, inspecting the car with our representative and handing back the keys.
12.Can I take the rental car out of the country?
No. It is only permissible for the car to be driven on the Maltese Islands.
13.Where is your rental office?
We provide a meet and greet service which means that once you reach the airport ‘Arrivals’, our representative will be waiting for you holding a sign with your name. We will then take you to our office with the shuttle car (free of charge) where you can collect your rental car.
14.Can I add an additional driver to the rental agreement?
Yes, you can add additional drivers at a fee. Additional drivers also need to meet the car rental company's age and licensing requirements.
15.What do I do in case of an accident or breakdown?
Contact the car rental company immediately if you have an accident or experience a breakdown. We will provide guidance on how to proceed and may offer a replacement vehicle (subject to availability).
16.How do I find out the fuel type of my rental vehicle?
Normally, stickers are placed on to the fuel caps of the rental cars, to advise you of the fuel type. Additionally, you may refer to the Vehicle Identification Card placed in the glovebox compartment before refuelling. If you believe you have refuelled the vehicle incorrectly, do not drive the vehicle and contact the office immediately, as this is likely to cause further damage.
17.Do I need to return the car with a full tank of gas?
You are required to return the rented car with a full tank. Otherwise, additional to the missing fuel amount, you will be charged a fee for refuelling.
18.What happens if I return the car late?
If the car is returned after the 1-hour grace period we will ask for an additional 1 day rental.
19.Do I need to clean the car before returning it?
While it's not required to detail the rented car, you should return it in a reasonably clean condition. Excessive dirt or mess may result in cleaning fees.
20.Where do I have to return the car?
You need to return the rented car to the same office where you collected it, and our representative will take you to the airport with the shuttle car (free of charge). Alternatively, airport drop off is available at a charge.
21.How long does it take to receive back my preauthorization?
The preauthorization is returned to the same credit card automatically within 28 days from transaction date.
22.Who are the cheapest car rentals?
